Thursdays @ 6.45 - 7.45pm
The Bible is the Word of God, absolute truth. It is about Jesus, and is a manual on what to believe, how to live a Christian life, how to give glory to God, and how to ensure others see the characteristics of a Christian person and wish to become disciples too. It also warns of the opposite way of following the devil and the world, and how easy it is to believe Satan’s lies.
Many people reject Christianity and the Bible without knowing just what the former is, and what the latter says. They cherry pick passages, misquote verses, and subtly change what God says so that they can ‘prove’ that they are doing the right thing – just like Eve did in the Garden of Eden. Do you want to know exactly what Jesus meant about the difficult, narrow, lonely way that leads to eternal life, or would you rather muddle along hoping you went through the right gate?
Notice the first word ‘all’ in the following quotation from 2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
All of the Bible is relevant, every word and verse of the Old and New Testament; no selective reading, and no taking bits out of context. This is what the Bible study aims to do. We select a book, and go through it verse by verse from the beginning to the end, so that we can understand it, interpret it and apply it to our daily lives. You will be surprised how much fun and interest this produces, and at the lively discussion and questions.
Please join us at 6.30pm for coffee and biscuits before the study starts at 6.45pm.
